Mary Ethel Huisman, age 68 of Spring Lake, passed away the morning of Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Heartwood Lodge. She was born on October 8, 1952 in Fisher, Arkansas to the late Roy Eugene and Mary G. (White) Baumgarner. Mary married Paul K. Huisman on June 1, 1973, in Grand Haven, MI. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2013 after 39 years of marriage.
Mary moved to the Tri-Cities area from Jonesboro, AR and was a bartender at the VFW and Stan’s in Spring Lake for many years. She most recently worked for Magic Touch Dry Cleaners in Arkansas.
Mary loved reading, watching old movies and comedies, and watching ghost hunting shows. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and her dog, “little dog,” was her constant companion whom she adored.
Mary will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two sons, Tyler Huisman of Spring Lake; Dan (Sharla) Baumgarner of Muskegon; two granddaughters, Brandi and Danielle Baumgarner; a great-grandson, Ayden; her sister, Pam Beaudoin (Tim Coyne); cousin, Carolyn (Ted) Rescorla; and her best friend, Rose (Butch) Smith.
She is greeted in Heaven by her husband, Paul; her parents; and sisters, Janet Burchell and Betty Burch.
A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at a later date to be announced.
