Marian Ruth Hill, age 100 of Grand Haven, passed away on August 6, 2020 at Hospice of Heartwood Lodge. She was born on July 23, 1920 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Reyer and Marie (Fisher) Nagtzaam. Marian married Robert “Bob” Hill on July 21, 1950 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2008.
Marian attended Grand Haven High School and was a life-long resident of Grand Haven. She was a member of First Reformed Church where she was a senior choir member and Sunday school teacher for many years. Marian worked for several years at Camfield’s and Braak’s Bakery, and was dedicated to her family, work, and church. She loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, knit, and read.
Marian is lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Ruth Ann Klintworth and Mary Lou (Jim) Van Stedum; son, Roger (Carol) Hill, all of Grand Haven; four grandchildren: Brad (Jill) Deters, Cody (Kelsea) Klintworth, Tiffany (Mark) VanVelzen, and Logan Van Stedum; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Hill in 1966; and brothers, Don and Richard Nagtzaam.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Lake Forest Cemetery with Pastor John Kenny officiating.
