Luella J. Frietchen, age 98 of Spring Lake, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at a local care facility. She was born on June 21, 1922 in Grand Haven, MI to the late William and Catherine (Albright) Frietchen.
Luella graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to obtain her Associate’s degree, working as a Medical Assistant for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church for several years, and former member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake.
Luella loved gardening and tending to her flowers, and was a member of the Michigan Conservation Club and Four Pointes Center. She also belonged to the Michigan State Medical Assistants and Ottawa County Medical Assistants.
Luella is lovingly remembered and missed by her sister, Willine Wybenga of Lilburn, GA; close friends, Margo VanderBerg of Holland and Mary Guzman of Nunica; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred and William Frietchen; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Frietchen.
The Funeral Service for Luella will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks and Social Distancing will be required at all services. Interment will be at Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
