Lisa Stoner Obituary

Lisa Kay Stoner, age 59 of Spring Lake, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 9, 1962 in Adrian, MI to Irwin and Nancy (Jonker) Stoner.

Lisa spent her childhood in Addison, MI, growing up on Devils Lake. Her family later moved to the Spring Lake/Grand Haven area where she graduated from Spring Lake High School. Much of her time as a teen was spent on Lake Michigan. Lisa was always sharing her love of the water and sports with everyone she met.

Later in life, Lisa went on to graduate from Cooley Law School, where she obtained her Law degree. She most recently worked for many years at Walmart in the Customer Service department, and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.

Lisa’s passion for the water and helping others continued to show throughout her years of dedication to the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival Committee, and attending many changes of command and ship commissioning.  She was also involved with the Grand Haven Waterfront, Lynn Sherwood Stadium, where she spent many hours volunteering, and Winterfest.

Lisa loved to travel around the state to see tribute bands, local concerts, and other music festivals. She also liked reading, sports, traveling, and spending time with her dogs. Most importantly, Lisa loved her family, especially her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Lisa will be remembered and missed by her two brothers, Mark Stoner and Kurt (Lisa) Stoner; her aunt, Phyllis Jonker; and her uncle, Ken (Barb) Jonker; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Irwin Stoner; sister, Linda Stoner; and her uncle, Al Jonker.

The Celebration of Life for Lisa will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
