Linda Anne MacGraw left this world early on October 20, 2020. She was born on July 11, 1955 to the late Joseph W. and Anna Lee (Bond) Rohloff in Seattle, WA. Her childhood was spent in Washington, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Michigan, where they settled in 1971.
Linda worked at North Ottawa Community Hospital for over 25 years in several departments and in several capacities, ending her career as a much-loved member of their staff. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, MI, where she served as a church and school volunteer for many years. Linda raised her family in the church and lived her life in service to her faith.
Linda married Timothy MacGraw on May 14, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. They shared many hobbies and interests while raising their family and being active in their community. Together, they served tirelessly for the Special Olympics for over 30 years; supporting local, state, and national games. Linda was also an Auxiliary Member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed her role as Mrs. Claus on the Coopersville Train and in many holiday events for several years. Linda’s face was well known at nearly every local establishment. It was rare for her to venture out and not bump into a friend.
Left to remember Linda’s loving personality is her husband of 32 years, Timothy; three daughters, Meagan Ross, Jillian (Brad) Taylor, and Erin Miller; and her stepson, Joshua MacGraw.
Linda’s daughters will always delight in their memories of her unfailing and enthusiastic support of their dreams. Never missing from the crowd, Linda made sure her girls knew that she was their biggest fan. They are blessed to share memories of her creative and spontaneous ways to show them her love. Some of their sweetest memories include watching her make hand-made costumes, learning from her how to crochet, decorating sugar cookies, and helping to hand-roll her famous meatballs.
Linda also relished her title of Grandma to Dominic, Alexis, Maya, Kaelin, and Lucas.
Linda is also leaving decades of fond memories with her mother, Anna; and her siblings, Michael (Linda) Rohloff, Louise St. Amour, Patrick Rohloff, Katherine (Bob) Lyttle, Marie (Rick) Taibl, and Joan (Edward) Gorajec. They all agree that it is a mystery what fueled Linda to be as active as she was in so many lives at the same time. Linda’s brothers and sisters knew that if they needed her, she was there, no matter the hour of the day. Most memories of their sister begin with her arrival in her red VW Beetle with her latest knitting project and a bag of Hershey’s Kisses to share. Linda’s family will sorely miss her trusting smile and loyal friendship.
Through death, Linda is joining her father, Joseph; and her grandson, Odin Miller, in the presence of the Lord.
The Funeral Mass for Linda will be take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, with Father David Gross officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Social distancing and masks will be required at both services.
