Linda Ann Dowdell

Linda Ann Dowdell, age 57, of Muskegon, MI, went home to be with the Lord peacefully the morning of Sunday, May 18, 2025, while at home. She was born on September 30, 1967, in Muskegon, MI, to Bobby Lee and Mary Lee (Gamble) Dowdell.

Linda attended Douglas Middle School in Thomasville, Georgia, and then relocated with her family to Muskegon where she attended Froebel Elementary School, Muskegon High School, and later, Vandaline Alternative School.

She began her career working as a housekeeper and daycare provider. She then worked for Arby’s in Muskegon for a short time before returning to doing daycare. Linda was an active member of several local churches and faith was very important to her. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of church and the love of God.

Linda was a talented writer, a wonderful cook, and she enjoyed watching movies and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting Muskegon Lake to go fishing and watch the sunset. Linda was a driven and motivated leader, and she always had a smile on her face. She always gave more than she received and will be remembered for her huge heart.

Linda will be lovingly remembered and missed by her mother, Mary Lee; her five children: William, Diamond, Edmond, Starkisha, and Ossie all of Muskegon; grandchildren: William Jr., Lavender, Hayz, Jules, Dmariyon, Miracle, Sincere, Jasmine, Sha'tara, Cherish, Ranae, Sa'maya, Faith, K'amisha, Ka'miylah, Khylie, Khalil, Khloe, Blessyn, Si'Ariee, Ke'montae, Bre'Asia, Evonne, Edmond Jr., Vontae, Violet, Emon, Eyana, Edris, and E'Lyeice; her mother’s children: Larry Joe D. of Grand Rapids, Lawrence D. of Muskegon, Desmond D. of Muskegon, Clifford D. of Grand Rapids, Mary Lee C. of North Carolina, and Yvonne D. of Florida; her father’s children, Gerald R., Earl W., Bobby D., and Angie D.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Dowdell; her grandparents; and her great-parents.

Funeral Service for Linda will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church (695 Allen Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442), with Pastor Mark Hofman officiating. The Visitation/Viewing for Linda will be held just prior to the service, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church. The Repass will be held immediately following the Funeral Service at Angel Community Church (446 Ada Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442) with Pastor Jeffrey Hough officiating.
