Linda Marie (Barnes) DeCamp

Linda Marie DeCamp, age 82, of Fruitport, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Muskegon, MI surrounded by her children. She was born on December 19, 1942, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Durwood and Rita (Schindler) Barnes. Linda married Jack DeCamp on November 19, 2000, in Lake Tahoe, CA. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2023, after 22 years of marriage.

Linda graduated from Grand Haven High School, where she served as a drum majorette, took part in synchronized swimming, and was honored as homecoming queen. She also performed in the water-ski thrill shows held in the Grand Haven Harbor.

Throughout her career, Linda worked as a receptionist for Dr. Richard Poel's office for many years before joining Ermanco and TGW. A devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake, she volunteered enthusiastically for many parish events, including the annual St. Mary's Parish Festival. Linda also took great joy in organizing her high school class reunions.

She loved staying active and spending time outdoors, especially gardening, walking in nature, cross-country skiing, camping, hunting, and fishing. Linda also enjoyed playing golf and traveling with Jack; visiting family in northern Michigan, traveling to the grandkids' sporting events, and spending winters in the Bahamas.

Linda loved animals and had many beloved pets over the years. She embraced life fully and left a lasting, positive impact on everyone who knew her.

Linda will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughter, Denise (Larry) Mizell; her son, Jason (Heidi) Snell; and her three grandchildren: Nathaniel Mizell, Gabriella (Josh) Mizell Marino, and Delaney Mizell. She is also survived by her sisters, Carole Klouw and Judy Goding; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her current cat, Bibi, who would appreciate you making Memorial Contributions to Harbor Humane Society in her name.
