LeRoy Charles Hodges

LeRoy Charles Hodges, age 76 of Hesperia, was promoted to Glory on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at home. He was born on January 23, 1942 in Ravenna, MI to the late Fred and Ruby (McWilliams) Hodges.

LeRoy married E. Joanne Hook on March 18, 1961 in Grand Haven, MI. He was a member of the Salvation Army, and was a member in the band. LeRoy was also a Corps Cadet Leader, and boys club leader. He was very active in his church as well, teaching Sunday School and driving the Sunday School Bus. LeRoy loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a very talented Square Dancer , and enjoyed playing horseshoes while wintering in Florida.

LeRoy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, E. Joanne Hodges; daughters, Denise (David) Gorsline of Grand Rapids, MI, and Pamela (Tim) Jones of Key Largo, FL; grandchildren, Bianca and Demetrius Robinson, Dakota Williams, Jean-Luc and Zackary Jones; great-granddaughter, Zarie Jones; brother-in-law, William Baynes; sister-in-law, Vicki Hodges; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Hodges; sisters, Bertine Hodges and Marcia Baynes; brothers, Fred and Arlynn Hodges.

The Celebration of Life for LeRoy will be at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Salvation Army in Grand Haven, with Major Jay Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 PM at the Salvation Army. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Salvation Army of Grand Haven.
