Lawrence "Larry" Riley Tindall, age 86, of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at home. He was born on October 15, 1938, in Fremont, MI, to the late Morris and Evelyn (Meyer) Tindall. On June 17, 1961, he married the love of his life, Judy Mayo, in Muskegon, Michigan. Together, they shared 64 years of devoted marriage.
Larry graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering from the University of Michigan in 1964.
Larry and Judy were longtime members of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes, where they faithfully worshipped for many years.
Larry had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, and backpacking. He was gifted with his hands and found joy in crafting—making bows and arrows for his grandsons, carving peace pipes, and tackling all sorts of repairs (with the exception of plumbing and cars, as he often joked). He was also a skilled artisan, creating intricate beadwork, porcupine quill pieces, and delicate tissue paper airplanes.
As passionate travelers, Larry and Judy were proud to have explored every continent except Africa. His adventurous spirit, creativity, and love for his family will be remembered always.
Larry will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Judy; his three children: Roger (Suzann) Tindall, Laurie Tindall, and Terri (Norm) Boerema; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Garnet Angel; and brother, Kenn Tindall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jack Boerema; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice (James) Bennet and Delores (Donald) Kieft; and brother-in-law, Jay Angel.
The Memorial Service for Larry will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Eldon Eldred officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jack Boerema Scholarship Fund C/O Dutton Christian School or Harbor Hospice.
