Lawrence "Larry" A. Reaume, Sr.

Lawrence “Larry” A. Reaume, Sr., age 88 of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Hospice at Heartwood Lodge. He was born on August 20, 1932 in Ferrysburg, MI to the late Lawrence and Lucy (Hollister) Reaume. Larry married Mary A. Veldhuis on October 16, 1957 in Zeeland, MI.

Larry graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1954, during the Korean Conflict Era. He was a great wood-worker, and upon his discharge from the service, worked for Laughead Piano Factory, Story & Clark Piano Factory, and Bastain Blessing. Larry was also a local photographer for 40 plus years.

Larry was a charter member and Sunday-School teacher at Trinity Reformed Church. He was also actively involved in the events at the Blue Lake Chapel in Holton, MI.

Larry will be remembered and missed by his wife of 63 years, Mary Reaume of Grand Haven; three sons, Larry Reaume, Jr. of Grand Haven, Michael (Jennifer) Reaume of West Olive, and Danny (Sheri) Reaume of Grand Haven; three daughters, Lisa (Randy) Poel, Amy (Mike) Vliet, and Joy (Rick) Haan, all of Grand Haven; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Mildred Taylor, Leona Heyblom, Leon Veldhuis, and Jackki Jennette.

He was preceded in death by his two infant sisters; his brother, Albert Reaume; sister, Jeanette Lehman; and several in-laws.

The Funeral Service for Larry will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Trinity Reformed Church, with Pastor John Koedyker officiating. Full Military Rites to be performed by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Social Distancing and Masks will be required at all services.

Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
