Karen Lynn Tombs, age 69 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at home. She was born on August 9, 1953 in Bellefonte, PA, to Raymond and Betty (Scott) Cole. Karen married the love of her life and best friend, William “Bill” Tombs on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1986 in Rochester, MI.

Karen graduated from Rochester High School and went on to attend Central Michigan University. She was founder and operator of Finders Keepers Antiques, which operated in Center Town, Grand Haven for many years. She later became a realtor, working for Oakes Agency and ReMax Lakeshore, before founding Franklin Property Management with her husband, Bill.

She loved doing art projects, and received First Place in the People’s Choice Awards at ArtWalk in Grand Haven two years in a row for her display of handmade art pieces. Karen enjoyed serving on the board for Downtown Grand Haven and Grand Haven Main Street DDA as well.

Karen loved her family and had a great love for her pets, especially her dogs. She had an infectious smile and will be remembered fondly by those whose paths crossed with hers.

Karen is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 36 years, Bill; and her two children, Kim (Jason) Rykse of Boyne City, MI and Jesse (Allison) Tombs of Grand Haven; her six beloved grandchildren, Hailey, Maddox, & Abram Rykse, and Cambria, Ezra, & Amelia Tombs; her two sisters, Debbie (Jamie) Jones and Lisa (Jason) Hubbard; and her nieces & nephews, Cole & Carly Jones, and Mallory & McKenna Hubbard.
