Judy Fairless Obituary

Judy Pearl Fairless, age 78 of Robinson Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at home. She was born on April 8, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Howard and Jewell (Powell) Castleberry.

Judy attended Rich Mountain Community College in Arkansas, earning her nursing degree and working as an LPN until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Holland and a passionate missionary.

Judy loved to cook. She would cook for anyone and everyone who came around; somehow, no matter how many she was feeding, always having enough. Her favorite creature on earth was definitely cats, and she was very passionate about animal welfare. Judy enjoyed crocheting, making many blankets, pot holders, and doilies over the years. She also loved collecting and watching movies, going to yard sales and thrift stores, and spending treasured time with family.

Judy was many things to many people, and made a difference in more lives than she realized. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and confidant. To some, she was a life saver through her missionary and service work. Others will simply remember her as "always being there" no matter what. Judy loved only God more than her family, and through that love of God and serving tirelessly in her mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, she became known as "Sister Fearless." She will continue to be loved by many while she is dancing in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Judy is survived by her children, Cynthia Jewel (David) Smalley of Cove, AR, Yolanda May Lee of Coopersville, MI,  William Bert Lee, Jr. of Mena, AR, Eddie Dwayne (Connie) Lee of Ada, MI, and Darla Dawn (Alex) Gonzalez of Grand Haven, MI; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Delores Wimberly.
