Juanita Ione Abid

Juanita Ione Abid, age 91 of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Grand Pines Assisted Living. She was born on June 5, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI. 

Juanita was a faithful member of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish for many years. She enjoyed collecting antiques, Ribbon Doll’s, dominos, and gathering shells and sharks teeth.  Juanita especially loved spending time at the family cottage with family and friends, which they have owned since 1957. 

Juanita is lovingly remembered and missed by her four sons: Nicholas Abid, Jr., Andy (Carol) Abid, Dave Abid, and Jim (Ann) Abid; her 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phylis Fish and Polly Schmucker; and brother, Larry (Shirley) Stancliff.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Abid, Sr.; daughter, Linda Dubuc; brother, Spike Stancliff; sister, Jackie Stancliff; and brothers-in-law, Bob Schmucker and Don Fish.

The Funeral Mass for Juanita will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish, with Fr. Dan Schumaker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Farmington Public Schools.
