Joyce I. (Pierce) Cosier

Joyce I. Cosier, age 84, of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Porter Hills Village Nursing Home, Grand Rapids. She was born on October 10, 1939, in Albion, MI, to the late Orlo and Ruth (Mitchell) Pierce. Joyce married Robert Cosier on May 14, 1987, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1998.

Joyce was born and raised in Albion and resided in Grand Haven most of her life. She graduated from Albion High School and worked at Meijer’s for 16 years, retiring in 2001.

Joyce was a member of First Reformed Church where she served in many roles. She enjoyed talking with friends and family on the phone and reading, walking, and spending winters down in Florida.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two children, Wendy (Fred) Impens of Belmont and Bryan Turner of Spring Lake; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gregory Turner (1998); daughter, Misty Hoagland (2023); son, Rick Turner (2022); brothers, Junior and Richard Avery; and her special friend, Sonny Frantz.

The Memorial Service for Joyce will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Kathy Bartels officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will also be a small Service held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Porter Hills Village Nursing Home (3600 Fulton St., SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546). Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to First Reformed Church Food Pantry.
