Jon David Lewis

Jon David Lewis, age 52 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at home. He was born on July 26, 1970 in Grand Haven, MI to the late John Lewis and Arlene (Wayne) Lawrence.

Jon graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1989. He attended Central Michigan University, later moving back to Grand Haven, where he was self-employed doing maintenance for many years.

Jon was a long-time member of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish, member of the Sons of the American Legion in Grand Rapids, as well as 14 year member and officer at the Grand Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 925, with 11 of those years serving as Trustee. Jon, along with his long-time girlfriend, Sheri, spent countless hours volunteering together at the Eagles club. From working the Annual U.S. Coast Guard Festival Beer Tent year after year, the Eagles Comedy Nights, and heading the Eagles 20/20 dinners, to running numerous fundraisers and helping out wherever they were needed, Jon selflessly gave his time to the club.

Jon loved going for walks with Sheri down by the beach and from their house down to the end of the pier, and also enjoyed golfing, playing pool and cribbage, rooting for his favorite teams; the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, going on trips to the casino and Tigers games, and playing in and organizing the Euchre Tournaments at the Eagles Club. He loved his animals, spending time with his friends down at “the club,” and especially adored his grandson, Atreus.

Jon will be forever remembered and missed by his long-time girlfriend, Sheri Puisis; his daughter, Bailey Carmean of West Olive; beloved grandson, Atreus; two sisters, Debbie Lewis and Kristin Harrison; his brother, Ken (Bonnie) Lewis; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his Eagles family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Lewis; his mother, Arlene Lawrence; sisters, Karen Lewis, Joan Lewis, and Linda Carlson; uncles, Robert Wayne, J.W. Wayne, and Fred LeMieux; and his niece, Casey LeMieux.

A Celebration of John’s Life will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Haven Eagles - Upstairs Hall. Please come join his family and friends in sharing your funny stories and memories of Jon.
