John “Jack” C. Krass, Jr., age 75, of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lakeshore Assisted Living, Sierra Residence. He was born on November 20, 1948, in Detroit, MI, to the late John and Mary (Leavire) Krass, Sr. Jack married Debbie Siemion on July 18, 1996, in Grand Haven.
Jack graduated from Walled Lake High School where he played on the Football team. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard from 1967 to 1971. After Jack’s time in the service ended, he worked as Sales Agent for Mass Mutual for many years and was owner and operator of "That Hat" store in Grand Haven. He later worked in Sales for GRK Fasteners and was an independent sales representative in three states.
Jack was a proud member of the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28, the Grand Haven Eagles Aerie 925, and longtime member of the Grand Haven Area Jaycee’s. He also enjoyed his membership at the Grand Haven Golf Club.
Jack was a dog lover who enjoyed golfing, and bowling at the former Starlite Lanes in Grand Haven. He and Debbie especially looked forward to spending time down in Florida in the winter months.
Jack will be remembered and missed by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Krass; and children: Tracy (Ray) Bytwerk, Joshua (Lulu) Krass, and Richie Siemion, Jr.; eight grandchildren; two sisters; five brothers; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John C. Krass, III; and daughter-in-law, Amy Siemion.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Lakeshore Assisted Living Sierra Residence for all the love and care they showed to Jack during his time there.
A Memorial Visitation for Jack will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will be performed at 5:00 p.m. by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28.
