John Scott Nedderman, age 85, of Grand Haven, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Grand Pines Assisted Living. He was born on July 21, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Carl and Audrey (Colip) Nedderman. John married Kaye M. Nedderman on June 29, 1963, in Grand Haven. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2025, after 62 years of marriage.
John graduated from high school and went on to receive his master's degree in finance. He began his career working for General Telephone for five years, and later, worked for Continental Motors for 10 years. He retired as the Director of cost accounting from Bil Mar Foods (a division of Sara Lee) after 12 years.
John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for many years where he also served as treasurer and was former member of Toastmasters International and the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Buc Boosters. He also served in the Indian Guides program (now known as the Adventure Guides program) which was for fathers and their sons to spend time together through activities like camping, crafts, and meetings. John most loved spending time with his family and spending time outdoors golfing and fishing, especially fly-fishing.
John will be remembered and missed by his two sons, Todd (Monika) Nedderman along with their daughter, Kamila, and Troy (Jamie) Nedderman along with their children, Bryce and Livia; sister, Bonnie Stringer; brother, Carl (Joanie) Nedderman; and his sister-in-law, Debra (Timothy) McDowell along with their son, Emil.
The Memorial Service for John will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Vergin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
