Jody J. Pertner

Jody J. Pertner, age 43, of Spring Lake, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at The Poppen House Residence. He was born on May 16, 1977 to Ronald and Sandra Jo (Jeske) Pertner.

Jody attended Grand Haven High School, where he earned his GED, and went on to work in construction and production over the years. He enjoyed anything having to do with Michigan’s great outdoors; deer and turkey hunting, fishing, or simply hiking through the local dunes and forests were high on his list of loves. 

Jody is survived by his mother, Sandra Jo (Jeske) Pertner of Spring Lake; son, John Pertner of Roosevelt Park; sister, Mandy (Jeff) Barlow of Grand Haven; nephews, Nicholas and Matthew Barlow, Brody and Braddox Pertner; and niece, Brennan Pertner; many aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brady Pertner; and his father, Ronald Pertner; as well as several special aunts and cousins. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at his sister and brother-in-law's home at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Jody Pertner to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
