Joan Elaine Loeper, age 65, of Spring Lake, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born on November 30, 1959, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late William and Scennie (Muilenburg) Bol. Joan married Richard Loeper on February 27, 1988, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2023, after 35 years of marriage.
Joan graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School and attended Second Christian Reformed Church for many years. She enjoyed working on needlepoint and crocheting blankets for her future grandbabies, reading, and watching the Hallmark channel. She also spent many years caring for children in daycare.
Joan will be lovingly remembered and missed by her four sons: Jonathan (Hailey) Loeper of Montague, Matt Loeper of Coopersville, Cody and Kory Loeper both of Spring Lake; her sister, Barb Bol of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents; and her husband, Richard.
The Funeral Service for Joan will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Blackmon officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
