Jesse Edwin Jewell

Jesse Edwin Jewell, age 72, of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at home. He was born on November 15, 1951, in Wolcottville, Indiana, to the late Arthur and Mary (Hall) Jewell. Jesse married Emily Rowell on June 17, 1972, in Grand Haven.

Jesse spent his childhood growing up and attending school in Indiana, and later in life, moving to Grand Haven. He worked as a welder and boilermaker for most of his career, retiring from Johnson Boiler after many years.

Jesse was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to spend time at home with his wife and work on things in and around their home.

Jesse will be forever remembered and missed by his wife of 52 years, Emily Jewell; and their two children, Christine Hernandez and Jason Jewell; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Pam Highland; brothers, Larry Jewell and Keith (Blanche) Jewell; and sisters-in-law, Carla Rowell and Betty (Jack) Wydeck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Jesse A. Jewell in 2013.

A Celebration of Life for Jesse will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the Community Room at Pinewood Place, 1500 S. Ferry St. In honor of Jesse being an outdoorsman, the family requests you wear anything hunting or fishing related (optional). Please park on Ferry St. or any side street.

Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
