Jeffery John Veltkamp

Jeffery John Veltkamp, age 54 of Newaygo, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at home. He was born on March 19, 1970, in Holland, MI, to John and Ruth (Jansen) Veltkamp. Jeff married Tracy Aldred in February of 1999.

Jeff graduated from Grand Haven High School, and later, Michigan Tech. with his bachelor’s degree. He worked as a Senior Engineering Manager for Magna Corp. and Flexcable for many years, retiring from Flexcable in December of 2023.

Jeff, along with his son, were avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting, and fishing together. He was also a NASCAR fan and loved sports. Jeff played baseball for Grand Haven, and he especially enjoyed going golfing and watching Detroit Lions and U of M Wolverines football.

Jeff will be forever remembered and missed by his wife of 25 years, Tracy Veltkamp; his son, Tyler Veltkamp; parents, John and Ruth Veltkamp; and parents-in-law, Mike and Edie Eller.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marinus and Josephine Jansen, Henry and Emma Veltkamp; and his aunt, Betty Weatherwax.

A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pottawattomie Park, 15600 Comstock Street in Grand Haven.
