James Richard Huston

James "Jim" Richard Huston, age 78, of Robinson Township, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at home. He was born on December 27, 1946, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Victor and Roberta (Hittle) Huston. Jim married Melodye White on May 23, 1981, in Grand Haven.

After graduation from high school, Jim worked as a cutter-grinder and tool and die maker in various manufacturing positions until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and a very talented woodworker who enjoyed making crafts. Jim especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jim will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Melodye; his daughter, Amber (Nathan) Sowa; son, Jamey (Amy) Showers; seven well-loved grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Tom) Gould; sisters-in-law, Susan Hyde and Elaine Doyle; and brother-in-law, Gordon (Sharon) White.

In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, John Sherriff.

A private Graveside Service will take place at McCumber Cemetery in Branch, MI.
