James Frank Gay, II, age 51, of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at home, surrounded by family. He was born on February 10, 1974, in Lansing, MI, to James and Shirley (Warren) Gay.
Jim was a proud graduate of Holt High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Ferris State University. He was an engineer and pioneer of the development of robotic arms.
A true outdoorsman, Jim found joy in fishing, camping, and gardening. He also enjoyed cooking, shopping, and listening to music in his downtime. Known as a "jack of all trades," he was a skilled handyman, especially talented in heavy metal work and welding.
Above all, Jim's greatest devotion was to his family and his faith. He was a committed Christian and shared his love for the Lord.
Jim is survived by his children, Mackenzie Gay and James Gay, III; his sister, Tenia (Jerry) Bramer; and extended family members: Michelle (Chuck) Buckland, Joey Buckland, Scott Snyder, Tom (Kris) Snyder, Nancy Bramer, Tracy (Bob) Calhoun, Bruce (Elisha) Bramer, Michael Balakovitz, and Stephen Balakovitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sharon Walters and Nancy Snyder; and his nephew, Danny Balakovitz.
In accordance with Jim's wishes, no services will be held.
