Jacob Owen Jager

Jacob Owen Jager (Jake) of Grand Haven, age 23 died March 3rd, 2018. He was born July 6, 1994 to Todd and Lorie Jager in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A 2013 alumni of GHHS, Jake became a proud Laker upon earning his Bachelor’s degree from GVSU in 2018.
Jake was an accomplished actor and vocalist who was well known for his passion and love of performing both music and in the theater. He had an unrelenting drive for justice and goodness, was a loyal, compassionate friend whose light drew people in and inspired them. Jake publically supported Make-a-Wish, Relay for Life, Grand Valley State University and lived life spreading the magic of Disney everywhere he went – including the Disney College Program in the Magic Kingdom.
Jake has now joined his father Todd and grandmother Jackie and is survived by his mother Lorie and brother Cal of Grand Haven, grandparents Clem and Linda McLouth of Hart, grandfather Terry Jager of Montague, special Aunt Deb (Greg) of Stony Lake, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his family by choice: Mike and Tera Braid of Twin Lake and Lori and Robert Vance of Grand Haven.
The Celebration of Life Service to honor Jake will be held Monday, March 12 at 3 pm at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds Worship Center in Grand Haven with Pastors John DeKam and Dan Eisnor officiating. Friends can meet with the family Sunday March 11 from 4-7 at the Porto Bello Grand Hall in Grand Haven or at the Conference Grounds Monday from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
Donations to recognize Jake’s life and legacy may be made to the Jake Jager Memorial Scholarship at GVSU; the Pediatric Oncology Resource Team (PORT) at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to support those that provided him care over the past six years; or to spread happiness, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of West Michigan who made a dream of his come true.
