Jack Frederik VanDyke, age 87 of Muskegon, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. He was born on June 23, 1934 in Muskegon, MI to the late Abel and Lucille (Matthews) VanDyke. Jack married Phyllis Wagenmaker on November 3, 1973, and she preceded him in death on November 4, 2019, after 46 years of marriage.
Jack attended Muskegon Heights High School, and went on to work as a truck driver for several different trucking companies throughout the years. He was a charter member and trustee of the Fruitport Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3666. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, and summers in Hesperia, MI in his R.V. Jack also enjoyed traveling to many places in the U.S., including Alaska.
Jack is remembered and missed by his two daughters, Gayle (Paul) Brondyke and Gerilyn (Rick) Justus; two sons, Gary (Jodi) VanDyke and Jack (Lisa) VanDyke; step-sons, Michael (Janet) Roach and Terry (Sandi) Roach; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joel VanDyke and Jerry (Val) VanDyke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Gordon VanDyke; and step-daughter, Patricia Roach.
A Celebration of Life for Jack will take place on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Fruitport Eagles.
