Ivy B. (Delucas) Barnes, age 47 of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2020 at home. She was born on October 29, 1972 in San Bernardino, CA to Ronald Delucas and Geraldine “Gerry” Baker.
Ivy lived in the Tri-Cities area for 10 years, after moving here from Battle Creek. She was a graduate of Pennfield High School, Class of 1990, and then graduated from Wright Beauty Academy in 2008. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake and worked as a hair stylist and stay-at-home mom to her two children.
Ivy enjoyed painting and drawing, swimming in Lake Michigan, and was an animal lover with a special affinity for cats. She was fascinated by the supernatural and ghost hunting. Ivy was a loving, compassionate soul who always put others before herself and had a great sense of humor. Her spirit will live on through her many good friends and family members.
Ivy is lovingly remembered and missed by her two children, Violet Barnes and Julian Barnes (Shae Phipps) all of Ferrysburg, MI; her parents, Gerry (Karl) Pallada of Pullman, MI; grandmother, Gerry Baker of Battle Creek; sister, Rachelle Dinius of Lakewood, CO; brother, Ronald Delucas of Battle Creek, MI; niece, Jade Dinius of Lakewood, CO; and close friends, Becky Schwarz, Anne Parsons, and Maria Beard. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tom Baker.
The Graveside Service for Ivy will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery with Fr. David Gross officiating.
