Obituary
Henry George North, age 90 of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Trinity Health Grand Haven Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1931 in Nunica, MI to the late Earl and Lillian (Vokel) North. Henry married Gertrude Clover on June 16, 1951.
Henry worked for Challenge Porcelain for over 25 years. He later worked for Grand Haven Area Public Schools as a custodian, which he retired from. Henry was a hardworking man who enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work, traveling, and working on projects. He even built his first house, which he was proud of.
Henry will be forever remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 72 years, Gertrude; daughter, Schery Vancura of Grand Haven; son, Rickey Lee North of Trout Lake (Upper Peninsula); grandchildren: Heather, Lynsee, and Jadeian; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Willard and Donald North.
A private graveside service has taken place at Lake Forest Cemetery.
