Gloria Ann (Darin) Dubuc

Gloria Ann Dubuc, age 98, of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Lakeshore Assisted Living-Seville Residence in Grand Haven, MI.  She was born on November 1, 1925, in Meriden, CT, to the late Val and Natalina (Sisti) Darin. Gloria married Roger E. Dubuc, Sr. on June 10, 1950, in Meriden. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2009, after 58 years of marriage.

Gloria graduated from Meriden High School and went on to receive her associates degree in drafting and mechanical drawing. She was a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Milan, Ohio, where she participated in numerous community projects.

Gloria was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Milan, OH and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, MI. She worked as a schoolteacher for many years at the Erie, Huron, Ottawa County Vocational School in Milan until her retirement.

Gloria was an excellent artist and a master chef who especially excelled at Italian cooking and baking. She was also a voracious reader and loved playing Bridge with friends in Grand Haven, spending time with family, and enjoyed frequent visits to the family beach cottage in Old Lyme, CT.  She was lovingly known by her family as, “The Dutchess.” 

Gloria will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son, Roger (Nancy) Dubuc, Jr.; two grandchildren, Jayson (Bethany) Dubuc and Darcy (Logan) Wynn; great-grandson, David Dubuc; and her brother, Gene Darin, Sr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Nancy Darin.

A Memorial Service for Gloria will be held at a later date in Milan, Ohio.
