Geraldine "JoAnn" (Hansen) Fletcher

Geraldine JoAnn Fletcher, age 89 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Grand Pines Assisted Living.  She was born on May 7, 1934 in Grand Rapids, MI to Ward and Thelma (Thompson) Hansen.

JoAnn moved to Grand Haven in 1978 before moving to Wisconsin in 1982 and returned to Michigan in 2005.  She was a graduate of Blodgett School of Nursing and went on to receive her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  Her career spanned from working at Ferguson Hospital, Pine Rest Christian Hospital, Holland Hospital and culminating her career as a Professor of Nursing while living in Wisconsin. 

Throughout the years, JoAnn loved spending time with her family, sewing, sitting down with a good book, and walking.  She enjoyed many winters of retirement in Mission, TX.  JoAnn had a passion for caring for people and made it her mission in life. 

JoAnn is lovingly remembered and missed by her two children: John (Becky) Kladder, Sue (Jon) Cuddington; five grandchildren, Abby (Jack) Kennedy, Logan Cuddington, Michelle (Eli) Hill, Justin (Lesa) Kladder and Alyssa Kladder; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Thelma Hansen; her spouses, Walter Kladder, Donald Schilling, and Don Fletcher; and sisters, Harriet (Jack) Witt, and Erma (Chuck) Lucas.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park.
