Geraldine M. (Keyes) VanStratt

Geraldine VanStratt, age 91 of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at a local care facility. She was born on May 19, 1929 in Muskegon, MI to the late Howard and Edna (Theile) Van Horssen. Geraldine married John D. VanStratt on June 26, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1998.

Geraldine lived in Grand Haven for most of her life, and was an active member and Deaconess of First Presbyterian Church volunteering on several committees for many years. She was a member of the Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a valued volunteer. Geraldine enjoyed playing bridge and walking, and in her younger years, she liked to occasionally go bowling and play golf. Her family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible.

Geraldine is lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Victoria (Ron) Pete of Grand Haven; her two sons, Jeffrey (Anna) VanStratt of Grand Haven and Steven (Jody) VanStratt of Telluride, CO; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary (Tom) McKinley. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Lisa VanStratt Laughead in 1983; and sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Clifford Taylor.

The Graveside Service for Geraldine will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Lake Forest Cemetery with Rev. Kristine Aragon Bruce officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or Love in Action of Grand Haven.
