Gerald L. VerBerkmoes

Gerald L. VerBerkmoes, age 95, of Grand Haven MI, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Wayland, MI. He was born on January 11, 1930, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Voogt) VerBerkmoes. Gerald married Betty Hudson on April 16, 1983, in Grand Haven.

Gerald graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1947. He worked as a Chemist/supervisor for Miller and Smith Corp., which he retired from. Gerald was a member of Robinson Grace Church and loved woodworking, gardening, canning, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching sports on television and collecting coins.

Gerald will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty; and his three daughters, Patricia (Raymond) Connor, Karen (Paul) Panzegrau, and Janice (Ross) Williams; two sons, Timothy (Deb) VerBerkmoes and Rodney (Dawn) VerBerkmoes; stepchildren: Kathy TenBrink, Tracey (Scott) VanVelzen, Janice (Jeff) VerBerkmoes, and Timothy TenBrink; 19 grandchildren: William (Christa) VerBerkmoes, Nick (Nikki) VerBerkmoes, Paula (Rob) Willis, Molly (Chris) Holmes, Matthew Panzegrau, Stephanie (Kevin) Rowe, Luke (Katherine) Williams, Shelby VerBerkmoes, Lindsey (Jeremy) Diller, Cassidy VerBerkmoes, Isaac (Keeghan) VerBerkmoes, Katie (William) Hughes, Re'Shon VerBerkmoes, Ramsey Weber, Jarod (Katie) VerBerkmoes, Jill Payne, Shane (Andy) Smith, Tara Inso, and Alexandria (Jake) Insododson; 22 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Russell VerBerkmoes; siblings: Joe, Jacoba, Al, Clarence, and Gary; and his first wife and mother of his children, Pearl Bos.

A Graveside Service for Gerald will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery with Pastor Bill Russell officiating.
