Frank Thomas Tiles, Jr., age 56 of West Olive, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was born on March 17, 1964 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Frank and Wilma (Peterson) Tiles.
Frank graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1983 and was a life-long resident of Grand Haven. He was an Excavator for the family business, Tiles Excavating, and also owned a Blueberry Farm.
Frank was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with his friends going out to eat at Crockery Creek Saloon, Turks, Main Street Pub, and Ucello’s. He had a kind soul whose smile would light up a room, and he always liked to pay-it-forward for others. Frank liked to kite-surf on his snowboard, fly his drone, and especially loved going for rides on his motorcycles. He also enjoyed going away on hunting trips and taking vacations in Florida. Frank always took pride in having a nice lawn, and spent hours mowing the grass and tending to his garden.
Frank is lovingly remembered and missed by so many who knew him. He is survived by his sisters, Vonna (Bruce) Niemiec of Grand Haven, Susan Jane (Dave) Weick of Hudsonville, Beverly (Jerome) Schultz of Grand Haven, Mary “Idy” Tiles of West Olive, Sallie (David) Schmidt of Grand Haven; brothers, Steven (Marilyn) Tiles of Grand Haven, Jon (Marcy) Tiles of Nunica, James (Cheryl) Tiles of Spring Lake; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Randall and Thomas Tiles.
The Drive-In Funeral Service for Frank will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Hope Reformed Church with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. A Drive-By Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Sallie‘s house at 16064 Winans Ave. in Grand Haven Township. All those attending are required to stay in their vehicles during the visitation and service.
Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. The family asks that you pay-it-forward when you have the opportunity, just as Frank would have done.
