Doris May (Danich) Owsiak

Doris May Owsiak, age 86 of Grand Haven, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Florida. She was born on February 3, 1936 in Dearborn, MI to the late John and Nellie (Bardelli) Danich. Doris married Henry Owsiak on September 29, 1956 in Brighton, MI. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2017.

Doris was a long-time member of St. Patrick - St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish where she spent 57 years in worship. She worked for Grand Haven Brass in the core room until her retirement. After retirement, she was part of a cancer survivor group called “the cancer girls,” which was a big part of her life.

Doris enjoyed cooking for her family, tending to her flowers, going to the casino, and going bowling. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is lovingly remembered and missed by her three sons, Douglas (Lyn) Owsiak of Pewaukee, WI, David Owsiak of Allendale, MI, and Donald (Sherri) Owsiak of Wolverine, MI; five grandchildren, Liz Owsiak, Michael (Meggie) Owsiak, Rachael (Chris) Fehrenbach, Henry (Erika) Owsiak, Amanda (Garrett) Palmer; seven great-grandchildren, Weston, Owen, Juliette, Lawson, Estelle, Nora, Dax; her brother, John (Ellen) Danich of The Villages, FL; and her brother-in-law, Freeman Hood.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her twin sister, Dolores Hood; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Owsiak.

The Memorial Mass for Doris will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Patrick - St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish with Fr. Charles Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
