Donna Marie (Lagrois) Basso

Donna Marie Basso, age 88, of Spring Lake, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at home. She was born on September 6, 1936, in Detroit, MI, to the late Nelson and Marie (Tourangeau) Lagrois.

Donna graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Royal Oak, MI. She spent many years working for Standard Federal Bank, from which she retired from. Donna loved animals, reading, attending plays and concerts, and especially going to Detroit Tiger's baseball games. She also enjoyed watching FBI and Dancing with the Stars on television.

Donna was most known for being spunky and a strong person. She dedicated her life to caring for her disabled son, which she did with love.

Donna will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters, Barb (Bill) Tolles and Kris Raniszewski; six beloved grandchildren; nine well-loved great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Basso; daughter, Diane Law; great-grandson, Elijah Tolles; brother, Richard Lagrois; sister, Barbara Lagrois; and son-in-law, John Raniszewski.

Private family services will be held.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society or the Little Red House in Spring Lake.
