Donald Klaassen Obituary

Donald L. Klaassen, age 86, of Traverse City, MI (formerly of Grand Haven) passed away August 12, 2021. He was born December 23, 1934, in Grand Haven to the late Henry and Eleanor (Bosch) Klaassen. Don married the former Joyce Kieft on February 1, 1952, in Grand Haven. He worked for Vickers Hydraulic in Traverse City until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid fisherman and hunter for many years and enjoyed going to Florida in the winter months.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Joellen (Chris) Kyser of Interlochen, MI, Marla (Brad) Rockwell of Alton, MO, Janell Klaassen of Daytona Beach, Fl; his son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Sage of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren; also surviving are his sisters, Roberta Schroeder of Washington and Larry (Marcie) Sheffield of Ferrysburg. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Sage, sisters; Jane Klaassen and Jean Matteo. A Private Family service will be held at a later date. Memorials to a charity of one’s choice.
