Diane (Grace) Fenton Wolgemuth, age 77 of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Robbinswood Assisted Living. She was born on August 28, 1945 in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Elaine (Rentner) Fenton. Diane married her love, Stephen Wolgemuth, on July 10, 1971 in Cicero, IL.
Diane graduated from Morton East High School in Cicero, IL, and later, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. She began her working career in Marketing at Market Research Institute in the city. To have more time with her children, Diane changed careers and became a Secretary at Blythe Park School in Riverside. She then worked for Franklin Park Public Schools before moving to Holland, MI where she held a similar position for West Ottawa Public Schools for many years.
Diane attended Riverside Presbyterian Church up until 1995 when she moved, and was an active member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) in Riverside and Holland, where she held several offices.
Diane enjoyed cooking and baking, antiquing, and was an artistic person who enjoyed working on crafts, watercolor, and drawing Zentangles. In her younger years, she was an excellent quilter, and even tried her hand at knitting. Diane was most known for her green thumb in the garden. She is affectionately remembered for her great sense of humor and being a loving and caring friend to all.
Diane will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband of 52 years, Stephen; and their daughter, Jill (Carl) MacConnach of Grand Haven, MI; and son, Mike (Jessica) Wolgemuth of Kettering, OH; her five beloved grandchildren: Owen, Jack, Harper, Mia, and Nora; and her brother, James (Joanne) Fenton of North Riverside, IL.
A Celebration of Life for Diane will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28 in Grand Haven (upstairs). The family encourages casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Memory of Diane may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association-Michigan Chapter or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
