Delores Ruth Stolper, age 78 of Grand Haven, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1943 in Atlantic Mine, MI to the late Toivo and Selda (Rajala) Koski. Delores married her soulmate, William P. Stolper on April 26, 1969 in Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2019, after 49 years of marriage.

Delores graduated from High School and then went to school to be a Beautician. She worked for many years doing hair in Illinois before her and Bill put roots down in Grand Haven in the early 1990’s. Delores was a member of Harvest Bible Church and was very active in the Nursing Home Ministry with Bill, volunteered at Love in the Name of Christ in Allendale, and met regularly with her Prayer Group.

Delores and Bill enjoyed traveling to Arizona in the winter months, and going for walks together on the waterfront at Christian Reformed Church Conference Grounds; their favorite location. She also enjoyed watching her favorite T.V. shows including, “Jimmy Swaggart” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

Some of the traits Delores will be remembered for are how giving she was and her bold faith. She would always greet you with a big smile and was always ready to do something fun and adventurous. Delores loved talking to others about God, and itt was very important to her that others knew who he was.

Delores is lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters, Kim (Daniel) Day of Grand Haven, and Rhonda (Rick) Lamb of Schaumburg, IL; her eight grandchildren: Joshua, Matthew, Elisha (Alex), Tabitha (Brad), David (Kylie), Gabriel, Christopher (Zubie), and Nicholas; 12 great-grandchildren; her three sisters, Katherine Moilanen, Barbara VanNewkirk, and Dorothy (Stan) Dvorak; her two brothers, Fran (Caroline) Koski and Roy Koski; and her brother-in-law, Robert (Page) Viharo.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Shane Stolper; and two brothers, Howard and Marvin Koski.
