David “Dave”James Billedeau, age 74 of Grand Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with his wife, Cheryl, son, Brett, and daughter, Amy by his side. He was born on April 2, 1949 in East York, Ontario, Canada to the late Fred and Agnes (Ford) Billedeau.
Dave grew up in Scarborough, Ontario with his parents and siblings, along with his extended family, whom he was very close to. He attended W.A. Porter Collegiate Institute and studied at George Brown College.
Dave was a plumber and pipe fitter by trade, which brought him to Michigan, where he met his wife, Cheryl. They were married on April 4, 1981 and began their life together in Grand Haven, MI. Dave’s work took them to Florida, where he worked on the iconic Epcot Center in Disney World. Dave and Cheryl moved back to Michigan, where their son, Brett was born, and a few years later, their daughter, Amy was born.
Dave was a dedicated family man and was the provider for his family. He never missed a school event, a band or choir concert, or sporting event. Dave and Cheryl raised their children together, lovingly. Cheryl, Brett, and Amy have an unimaginable number of fond memories.
Dave loved to coach and play both hockey and soccer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing with his family, and the outdoors, but most favorite to him was watching his grandchildren run and play. They were the sparkle in his eye.
Dave will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl; his four children: Reneé, Adam (Sheri), Brett (Laura), and Amy (Jeremy); 12 grandchildren: Charli, Noah, Adrian, Owen, Raelynn, Madison, Elijah, Laila, Bella, Theodore, Hannah and Brady; mother in-law Dorothy Diedrich; two brothers, Steve Billedeau and Paul (Elsie) Billedeau; sister, Kathy (Rick) Joudrey; siblings-in-law, Jan (Scott) Shiflett and Bob (Linda) Diedrich; and many cousins and extended family.
