David John Vanderwall

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of David John Vanderwall, age 50, of Muskegon (formerly, Grand Haven) who passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1975, in Grand Haven, MI to Daniel Vanderwall and Lana (Deheer) Smith.

David was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Above all, he will be remembered for his big heart and generosity.

David is lovingly remembered and forever missed by his father, Daniel (Margarete) Vanderwall; and mother, Lana (Michael) Smith; stepbrothers, Justin (Anne) Smith and Adam (Ashlan) Smith; and his aunt, Vicky Vanderwall.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Vanderwall (2024); and two aunts, Jackie Ann Fischer and Barbara Jean Vanderwall.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Klaassen Family Funeral Home to assist the family with David's final expenses.
