David Tague Obituary

David Lee Tague, age 70, of North Muskegon, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Dave was born on February 1, 1955, in Holland, MI, to Donald and Ruth (Schuetky) Tague.

Dave graduated from Grand Haven High School and then attended Muskegon Community College. He later graduated from Grand Valley State University with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He worked as a Deputy for the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department for 29 years until his retirement.

Dave was a member of the Teamsters Law Enforcement League and the Fraternal order of Police. He was trained in Martial Arts, a member of the NRA, and was a huge history buff who had a tremendous thirst for knowledge, he was always interested in learning new things.

Dave enjoyed working in his yard and was passionate about his varied interests and hobbies. He was a skilled handyman, often helping those around him with their electrical repairs and other projects. He was especially known as a kind and loving person, generous with his time, and always helping people when he could.

Dave will be forever remembered and missed by his three children: Katie Tague of Middletown, IN, Danielle (Ken) DeNise of Fisher, IN, and David J. (April Tripp) Tague of Muskegon, MI; his father, Donald Tague; five loved grandchildren: Katelyn, Madison, Hayden, Joseph, and Jordan; and his sister, Sally (Tom) Berndt; and four brothers: Michael (Cheryl) Tague, Tony (Wendi) Tague, Christopher (Tiffnei) Tague, and Robert (Laura) Tague. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Tague.

A Memorial Visitation for Dave will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Holland, MI.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police.
