David Harold Schultz, age 77, of Grand Haven, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2026, at home. He was born on April 20, 1948, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Thomas and Neva (McPherson) Schultz. Dave married Jinny Lee Fett on June 23, 1967 in Grand Haven. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2023, after 56 years of marriage.
Dave graduated from Grand Haven High School and was a life-long resident of Grand Haven. He was owner and operator of Harbortown Fence and was an entrepreneur of several businesses throughout the years including M & S Tool & Die and Future Industries.
Dave enjoyed traveling and especially spending time out West at his second home in Mesquite, Nevada. He and Jinny enjoyed raising and racing horses all over the state of Michigan and they regularly attended the local County Fairs to show them.
Dave was well known as an excellent skeet and trap shooter which got him inducted him into the Michigan Skeet Association Hall of Fame in 1999. He was also an excellent woodworker who operated his own sawmill and taught himself to quilt and work with leather.
Dave will be forever remembered and missed by his significant other and companion, Karen Fett; his two children, Tracy (Pat) Hanley of Anchorage, AK, and Chad Schultz of Seattle, WA; two beloved grandchildren, Blake and Jenna Hanley; his brother and best friend, Tom (Margie) Schultz; brothers-in-law, Tim (Jean) Fett and Doug Fett (Cathy Law); sister-in-law, Priscilla Schultz; and his lifetime friend, Don Heinz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jinny; his brother, Ken Schultz; and sister-in-law, Janet Clark.
A Memorial Visitation for Dave will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Corewell Health Foundation-Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association-Michigan Chapter.
