David LaFrance Obituary

David Leroy LaFrance, age 79, of Grand Haven, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home. He was born on September 5, 1945, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Raymond and Jane LaFrance, and raised by his step-mother, Donnetta (Bray) LaFrance.

David graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army from 1965 to 1969. He worked as a computer programmer at JSJ Corporation for many years before retirement.

Later in life, David enjoyed working in his yard, planting and watching his flowers grow, as well as feeding and watching the birds. David will always be remembered for his very kind heart, the love of his family and friends, and, of course, his three little dogs.

David is remembered and missed by his cousin, Barbara Davis; and best friend, Rosaria Schoemaker and her daughters, Rachel and Elexis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and many siblings.

A Celebration of Life for David will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Providence Place (1618 South Despelder St., Grand Haven). Full Military Honors will be performed at 1:00 p.m. by the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28.
