David John Douma

David John Douma, age 64 of Robinson Township, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at home. He was born on January 15, 1958 in Grand Haven, MI to the late John and Mabel (Fluette) Douma. Dave married Ellen Emery on September 2, 1998.

Dave graduated from Grand Haven High School and was a life-long resident of Grand Haven. He worked for Grand Transformers for several years, and was member and Union Representative of the Steel Workers Union.

Dave was a talented woodworker who enjoyed whittling wood into pieces of art. He was a collector of many things, and he loved the Beatles. Dave enjoyed being outside in nature, and went canoeing any chance he could get. He especially loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could.

Dave is lovingly remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 24 years, Ellen; his four sons, Andy (Ciera) Douma, Steven Douma, David (Amber) Cook, and Jasin Cook; grandson, Coltyn Cook; and his sister, Sue Douma.

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
