David Warren Bramer, age 76, of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2025, at home. He was born on July 1, 1948, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Ralph and Eunice (Vanderwal) Bramer. David married Cathy Ann Madsen on October 3, 1987, and they cherished 38 years together.
David attended Spring Lake High School, and he was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1968 to 1970. He and Cathy attended St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years. David was a member of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 and the Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post #2326. He worked for many years as a carpenter in the manufacturing industry and was an avid outdoorsman. David was a history buff who also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry, and birdwatching.
David will be forever remembered and missed by his beloved wife, Cathy; daughter, Michelle (Barry) Newton; son, Matthew Bramer; grandchildren: Madison Newton, Russell Hysell, Arlo Newton, and Adelaide Newton; sisters, Ruth (Clint) Gonnason and Donna Drake; brother-in-law, Ronnie Madsen; and nieces, Nicole (Robbie) Lucas and Candi (Dean) Zambelli.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bill Drake.
The Memorial Service for David will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with full military honors. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
