Darrell Laning Obituary

Darrell G. Laning, age 67, of Grand Haven, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at home. He was born on October 15, 1957, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late George and Henrietta (Plutschouw) Laning.

Darrell graduated from West Michigan Christian High School, and then Western Michigan University and worked as Librarian at the Loutit Library for many years. He was a collector of stamps and coins and enjoyed reading Science Fiction and visiting Mackinac Island. Darrell recently made a statement, and it was, “I love Jesus.”

Darrell will be remembered and missed by his sister, Karen (Robert) VanderZee of Grand Haven; his nieces and nephews: Brian (Sue Ellen) VanderZee (and their children: Harrison, Arabella, Rowen, and Pierce), and Mark VanderZee; and special friend, Christine Streeter.

Private family services will be held.
