Daniel Lee Vanderwall, age 55, of Grand Haven, went to be with His Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1969, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to Gordon “Dan” and Lana (Deheer) Vanderwall.
Dan graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1988, and went on to work for MS Metal Solutions in Grand Haven for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings. Dan was a great cook and loved having people over or just spending time with family around a campfire.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Casey (Randall) Steinbach; sons, Justin (Leslie) Lashley and Micah (Alicen) Bergers; and three grandchildren: Hannah Lashley, Beau Bergers, and Oliver Steinbach; parents, Dan (Margarete) Vanderwall and Lana (Mike) Smith. Also surviving are his brothers: David Vanderwall, Justin (Annie) Smith, and Adam (Ashlan) Smith; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Service for Dan will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Emmanuel Free Church, with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
