Daniel Eugene Wine

Daniel Eugene Wine, 68 of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Harbor Hospice-Poppen House Residence in Fruitport Township, MI. He was born on April 7, 1955 in Huntington, IN, to the late James and Wilma (Wesco) Wine.

Dan graduated from Huntington North High School in 1973 and worked in the construction industry on commercial power-generating plants around the country.  After coming to the Grand Haven area in 1983, Dan worked many years in the automotive parts manufacturing industry, finishing his career at Shape Corp prior to his retirement.

Dan loved motorcycles, classic muscle cars, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He had many adventures on his 1985 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, including his favorite trips to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. Dan enjoyed weekend trips with family and friends to NASCAR races at Michigan International Speedway, loved playing cards with friends, fishing, being outdoors, and sitting around the campfire reminiscing on past adventures.

Dan was a member of Hope Church of Grand Haven and loved all those he gathered with for Sunday morning worship. His strength and faith in Jesus was strong, and his personal relationship with Him saw Dan through many challenging times.   

Dan is lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings: Dave (Teri) Wine, Dale (Julia) Wine, Diana (Pat) Healy, and Dorene (Don) Cozad; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. 

He was preceded in death by his nephews, Sean Healy and Anthony Wine; and close friend, Mike Holley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced in his hometown of Huntington, Indiana.
