Cynthia Jane (Beadell) Hermann, age 87, of Walloon Lake, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Lakeshore Assisted Living-Seville Residence in Grand Haven. She was born on May 9, 1938, in Bedford, IN, to Henry and Mary (Weaver) Beadell.
Cynthia graduated from Shortridge High School in 1956 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in 1960. While attending, she was a proud member of her Sorority and was honored on campus as Woman of the Year. She later married Richard Hermann, and together they shared many loving and memorable years.
Cynthia worked for many years as the President of the Crooked Tree District Library in Walloon Lake, a role she truly enjoyed. She had a wide range of interests, including knitting, cross-stitching, waterskiing, snow skiing, sailing, and playing tennis.
Cynthia is survived by her two daughters, Janine Poel McClain and Lisa Poel; step-daughters: Joanne (Mark) Desmond, Wendy (Rick) Steele, and Tina Harlan; 11 grandchildren; her sister, Betty Richardson; first husband and dear friend, Dr. Richard Poel; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; brother, Terry Beadell; and brother-in-law, Larry Richardson.
A Celebration of Life for Cynthia will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Junction Bar & Grill and Event Center in Walloon Lake. The Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at All Shores Wesleyan Church with Pastor Pete Yoshonis officiating, with Visitation held one hour prior.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, MI, at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Harbor Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Cynthia.
