Christine "Christie" Ann Mackie

March 27, 1975 ~ November 16, 2020 (age 45)

Obituary

Christine “Christie” Ann Mackie of Nunica, MI passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 45, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on March 27, 1975 in Elmira, NY to James Lee and Valerie (Goodnough) Mackie.

Upon graduation from High School, Christie graduated from Western Michigan University. She started out working at JSJ Corp., followed by Izzy Design for 14 years, and most recently working at Herman Miller as a Processing Engineer.

Christie had a positive attitude and continued to fight her cancer with everything she had until the very end. She was a kind, thoughtful, and patient person who was a good listener and always lifted people up when they were down. Christie was a giver, but never expected anything in return. She was intelligent, honest and sincere and always took the time to notice life’s little hidden treasures. Christie was a beautiful bright light in this world and it was a better place with her in it.

She loved nature, animals and photography, and she especially loved going to the beach, looking for Petoskey stones, and stargazing. Most importantly, Christie loved being a mom and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be missed dearly by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Christie leaves behind her husband, Brent Nowak; and their sweet boys, Charlie and Dylan; along with her parents and in-laws, Valerie & Raymond Ingersoll, Jim & Chris Mackie, and Cheryl Nowak; her siblings, James (Anita) Mackie, Michelle (Bret) Evans, Lisa (Ali) Moaiery, Mackenzie Mackie, Nicholas Mackie, Jason (Shauna) Ingersoll, Nolan (Summer) Ingersoll, Lance Nowak, and Hope Nowak (Ryan) Jones; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family plans to celebrate Christie’s life with family and friends at a later date when it is safe to do so, due to the risk of Covid-19. Christy’s family appreciates all of your well wishes and support.  A Go-Fund-Me page was setup in remembrance of Christie, for the benefit of her sons, Charlie and Dylan.
