Charlotte Lee "Cherie" Boersma (DePree), age 90, of Spring Lake, departed peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. She was born on August 15, 1934, in Holland, MI, to Lee and Chrystene (Scholten) DePree.
Cherie graduated from Holland Christian High School in 1952. On completion of coursework at Calvin College and clinicals at Blodgett School of Nursing in 1955, she became a Registered Nurse. Recognized for 22 years of service as a hearing and vision technician with the Ottawa County Health Department, Cherie retired in 1999. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and fellowshipping in God's word.
Cherie is survived by her children: Philip Boersma, Bruce (Heather) Boersma, Lori (Thomas) Rader, Lisa (Mark) VerStraete, Carri Boersma, and Julie (Kevin) Dagen; and grandchildren: Lindsay (Ian) Phifer, Erik (Brianna) Dagen, Seth Dagen, Kendall Boersma, Alex Rader, Cassie (Casey) Loring, Leysa Rader, Madison (Brett) Carter, Reed (Lanna) Testy, Ruby June, Leo Tanja, and Iris Tanja (Martin Herrera); and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Karl Boersma.
Cherie's family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers: Mocha, Bryanna, Johnia, Janiya, Stephanie, and Kim, and to her nurse, Kirsten, with CorsoCare Hospice.
A Memorial Visitation for Cherie will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
